Singapore Guitarist Olly Maguire Releases Debut Instrumental Album Resonance: Beyond the Mist
Singapore, 2025 — Veteran guitarist, producer, and music video director Olly Maguire has officially released his long-awaited debut instrumental album, Resonance: Beyond the Mist. The project marks a new chapter for the former guitarist of Atmosphere and Sukafellas, whose career spans decades in Singapore’s Malay music scene.
Well-known for producing and directing music videos — many of which aired on Mediacorp TV Suria — as well as managing artists and organizing shows, Olly has worked with names such as Chomel, Jumali Sanotri, and Juffri Alui, bringing them into both the Singapore and Malaysian markets. In 2024, he produced the record-breaking Singapore Biggest Guitar Collaboration featuring 70 guitarists, which earned recognition from the Singapore Book of Records.
During the COVID-19 circuit breaker, Olly also co-hosted and produced the online variety show Dasyat Giler, alongside Sham A. Wahab, bringing together veteran and emerging talents in a fun, offbeat weekly format that quickly became a fan favourite.
After years of focusing on supporting other musicians, Olly was finally persuaded by his close friend and producer Amyr Abadawn to create his own album. “Amyr kept telling me that it was time to step out and leave behind something personal. After much thought, I finally agreed — and Resonance: Beyond the Mist was born.”
The album features 12 instrumental tracks, blending modern rock, cinematic soundscapes, and Malay musical influences. Among the highlights are Through the Fog of Fate, Bushido’s Shadow, The Dark Seven, 93/23, Stormbound, and FanaQ.
93/23 was first released as a single in 2023, receiving airplay on Vicious Volume, Ria 89.7FM. For the album, it has been re-arranged into a new version, offering a fresh take on the track.
FanaQ, originally performed by the band Kraton, was known for its heavier sound. Olly has reimagined it as a soothing, instrumental version, giving the piece a calmer, more reflective feel.
Another standout is Stormbound, a collaboration with Singapore guitar icon Addy Rasidi. “I never imagined this collaboration would become a reality, and it’s truly an honour for me,” Olly shares.
Resonance: Beyond the Mist is now officially available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, and all major streaming platforms under Kraton Music & Performance Art (KMPA).
In addition, a special limited edition CD run will be produced for the North American market through ShredGuy Records, managed by respected industry figure Michael McDowell. These collector’s editions are dedicated to close supporters and mark a significant milestone in bringing Olly Maguire’s work to an international audience.
